Successful running of any Health initiative which has a wider impact on reducing mortality and morbidity needs Public Health approach. For accelerating the impact and positive outcomes, National Health Mission supports strengthening of various systems which are vital for program implementation.
PHA supports Ministry of Health, GoI, various States’ and UTs’ government in strengthening governance, decentralization, integration, and convergence within and beyond the department. PHA also advocates for professionalizing Public Health management to build the organizational capacity needed for achieving the desired outcomes.
The division helps in implementing the framework of NHM to make Public Health delivery system fully functional, responsive and accountable. States are supported for undertaking necessary institutional reforms which are essential for improving the performance of the health systems.
Division also helps ministry and states in undertaking various policy reforms and strengthening the legal framework for health with particular focus on Public Health, it also provides technical support to various programme in implementation of their programme activities.
