A Public Health Specialist with more than 35 years’ experience in Government and non-Government sectors. Graduate and Post-Graduate (MD and DNB - Community Medicine) from Government medical College, Patiala, Punjab. He has worked at various levels with the Government of Punjab before finally superannuating as Director, Health Services. His main work areas include HIV/ AIDS, Maternal and Child Health, Immunisation, NCDs. He has worked with WHO-NPSP for Polio eradication. He was part of A Study Mission to USA for Application of Quality Management in Healthcare; has undergone Advanced Course in Vaccinology (ADVAC) at Annecy, France; was part of Indian delegation to Sri Lanka for ‘Revitalisation of Home Based Records’ and played major role in designing of new Mother Child Protection (MCP) Card. He has been National Trainer for many trainings under NRHM/ NHM, National Trainer for ICD and ICF Training (Govt. of India/ WHO), National Assessor for Cold Chain for Immunisation, National Assessor for NQAS. He has 9 publications as author/ co-author in various journals. He has attended several National and International Conferences and presented more than 25 papers. A National Talent Search Scholar, he is a life member of Indian Medical Association, Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, National Academy of Medical Sciences.
