Public Health Management Cadre (PHMC): The National Health Policy 2017 proposes to create Public Health Management Cadre in all States. In the 13th CCHFW, 2019 the members under the chairpersonship of Hon’ble Health Minister resolved to establish PHMC in their States by 2022. To fulfil this commitment, MoHFW has formed an expert committee on PHMC in 2020 under chairpersonship of JS (Policy) and the secretariat of this committee is PHA division. The division has developed a guidance note for states which enumerates principles, career pathways and organograms for such a cadre, in consultation with NITI Aayog, subject matter experts, selected states (with interest in establishing a public health management cadre), development partners like WHO, PHFI, etc.
