With over 36 years of distinguished healthcare leadership, Dr. Pathni brings unparalleled expertise from his remarkable career. He was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1989 and has had a distinguished career in India and abroad. After leaving IAF in 2018, he was invited by Tata Trusts to steer Assam Cancer Care Foundation, a comprehensive cancer care project of 19 cancer hospitals.
He joined the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College in 1984 and earned his Masters in Hospital Administration from AIIMS (New Delhi). In 2017 he received a prestigious WHO Fellowship to study at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (UK). He is also trained in Business Management (IIFT), Accreditation (NABH, NQAS, ISO, Kayakalp), Military Medicine (Israel) and Aerospace Medicine.
Dr. Pathni comes with extensive public health and leadership experience including at the nodal, regional and national level. He had a distinguished service at DGAFMS (under MoD) where he handled affairs related to entire Army, Navy and Airforce in addition to UN and international missions. He has also handled hospital projects and successfully commanded and transformed a hospital in resource constrained circumstances.
Dr. Pathni has contributed as an expert to BIS, AIIMS, CGHS, DGS&D, NHP, MoD, MoF, MoC, FICCI, Deloitte, and several other government and industry panels. His technical areas of expertise include public health, global health, artificial intelligence, Emergency Medical System, medical logistics and digital health.
An active academician, with numerous publications in national and international scientific journals, he has been invited as a faculty at several institutions and MDPs. He is also on the Editorial Board of Journal of Healthcare Management Standards, the official journal of Healthcare Standards Institute (USA).
