With MD in Community Medicine from UCMS Delhi, and MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical college, Dr. Palak’s passion and experience in working for community’s health, invoked an interest for exploring the area of health systems strengthening.
Before joining the division as a consultant, she worked in the capacity of senior resident at ABVIM & Dr. RML Hospital where she initiated the establishment and managed the COVID-19 vaccination clinic, led the team of doctors at COVID -19 screening center, managed and analyzed the hospital data of the pandemic on a day to day basis and discharged clinical as well as managerial duties at the Rabies clinic in addition to serving at the outreach centers of the department of community medicine.
At NHSRC, she has contributed actively to formulation of the operational and technical guidelines for emergency care at district hospital and orientation and support to the states in implementing the newer initiatives under Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission and XV Finance Commission.
Her interest areas in public health include Epidemiology, Maternal and Child Health, Non-Communicable Diseases and Systems thinking. In her free time, she likes to explore nature trails, travel, and play music on strings.
